Of all nations, it was the French who struck the greatest blow against evil. Le Siècle des Lumières gave birth to its own form of tyranny and elevated man's reason over the revealed wisdom of God. Yet it managed to strike a blow against false religion and it's stranglehold upon the politics and culture of the time. For that, we must be grateful and Napolean's contribution was immeasurable.
It is unfortunate, that instead of true religion replacing false religion, deism unguided by revelation took root, along with atheism. What if God's revelation of himself was embraced, instead of twisted and used by false systems to enslave men? What if men worshipped God in spirit and in truth?
