ARMY PRESS RELEASE
SCOTTISH SOLDIERS TO HOLD HOMECOMING PARADE IN INVERNESS ON 18TH APRIL
2012
Soldiers from The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of
Scotland will take part in a series of Homecoming parades to mark their
recent return from a six month operational tour in Afghanistan.
The soldiers returned to their permanent base in Fort George, Inverness
throughout April 2012 and will hold the parades to thank families,
friends and local communities for the support they received while on
deployment.
Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Edward Fenton said: "I would like
to thank the people of Scotland who offered extensive support to the
battalion. Families and friends have been very supportive as have the
people of Inverness. They sent so many parcels and messages of support
that it gave the soldiers a real boost to know that so many people
cared."
The parades will take place in Inverness on Wednesday 18th April, Forfar
and Kirkcaldy on Thursday 19th April and Perth and Dundee on Friday 20th
April.
